From 7/15 Korean time, k-freesim can only be opened under the real name of the passport.
Due to this, it may take up to 24 hours after the customer enters the country to complete the opening .
Also, minors are not eligible. Please see below for any other changes .
1.K-freesim can be opened within about 3 to 24 hours after passing through immigration at the airport
-It takes at least 3 to 24 hours for the information on the arrivals to be updated on the KT computer system and to be ready for opening .
- “It takes 3 to 24 hours after entering the country to update the kt opening computer information linked with the immigration computer of the Ministry of Justice, and it may take up to 24 hours to open the SIM card after entering the country . ”
2.Kfreesim authentication related
- If you need to verify your identity in Korea, you must use Kfreesim Korean ID card ( resident card / driver's license )
-Only Kfreesim can verify the identity when the Korean ID card is opened . When opening a Korean passport, identity verification is not possible.
- Whether you are a U.S. citizen or a Korean, you can verify your identity when you apply with a valid Korean resident registration card or driver's license

- After installing the SIM, the device may need to be turned on/off up to 5 times to recognize the SIM, depending on the device model.
- You need to provide your copy of passport and your picture when you purchase the SIM card by Korean government laws.
Before purchasing a SIM card , be sure to check the following :
- The application fee for extension of the period of use is non- refundable .
- You must use an unlocked mobile phone. Please check in advance whether the mobile phone you are using is unlocked by contacting the mobile operator you are using .
- Even if it is unlocked , the SIM card frequency may not be compatible with your mobile phone model . Please check if your mobile phone model supports the frequency bands below . *3G/UMTS B1(2100) and LTE B1(2100), B3(1800), B8(900).
- After inserting the SIM card into the mobile phone, turn the power off and on about 5 times until the mobile phone recognizes the SIM card . It may be different depending on your phone model .
- When purchasing products, you must provide your passport and face photo in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations in Korea .
